Works great on my Mini Cooper

I was concerned I wouldn't be able to find a replacement oil rod on my Mini but this one works great! I haven't had any issues and it seems to be holding up.

Replace your original dipstick before it breaks!

Value for money, high quality metal braided probe. Original fiber optic probes are known to break and get stuck. Replace yours before it's too late!

Great replacement good for spares

Been looking for this for a long time. I've never been to Revain and my dipstick broke. This one is of much better quality as the shaft is made of steel cable and not plastic like the shaft. The only complaint is that it's too tight and difficult to pull out when fully seated.

Better than OEM good for aftermarket

This Dorman 917-315 oil dipstick fits my 2006 Mini Cooper S perfectly. The new Dorman grip's working length was 22.375 inches compared to the 22.313 inches of the original BMW grip . The o-rings on the new stick are a tight fit but are easier to pull out than the BMW stick which was quite difficult to get out. See photos for comparison with each other. An old broken fiberglass rod against a new braided stainless steel cable. I am pleased that the quality of Dorman parts is better than OEM BMW.

[update] Total JUNK; Stainless steel! Sellers had to publish information about the materials!

Upgrade [Second Attempt] We apologize to other users who have tried this faulty product based on my 5 star rating. Mine broke after the first use too. I don't drive much so the oil change interval is quite long (6 months). I didn't break it, but it just dissolved; I took a picture of the broken part; The rest is still in my Mini; This is the worst product I have ever purchased from Revain.com. The Car Part Kings seller is not responding to my email inquiries regarding damage caused by thisโ€ฆ
