Devastation: Transform! good for USB sticks

I grew up around transformers and had a Soundwave transformer so the opportunity to own a piece of my childhood half sold me once I found this product. And since I also needed a USB stick, this sale was in the bag. Pros: Read the product description and look at the picture. All this is. Plus, the fact that he transforms into a robotic animal means he's harder to lose in the clutter of the home office. :) Cons: Now that I have it in front of my eyes, I realize that the mouth opens too wide. Sometime in the very near future I'm going to put something under his neck to keep his mouth from opening all the way so it doesn't look like his jaw is dislocated. Sliding Mechanism The USB connector is too tight when retracted. You really have to push for it to slide out. Worse, it does NOT snap securely enough to keep the USB connector extended. Sometimes you need to manually hold the expansion switch with your finger to connect it to your computer. Because it's a transformer, it's significantly wider than a standard USB stick. You cannot use this drive next to another USB device unless the connectors are further apart than the standard spacing. A final note for everyone in the 30+ age group: this product is made of plastic! The Transformers we grew up with were metal and much stronger. am I getting old? Yes! Summary: Don't buy this if you will be using it frequently. It's too bulky, too fragile and the USB mechanism isn't well designed. BUY it if you intend to use it only occasionally. Buy it even if you are not a fan of Transformers! :D
