I don't have the time or patience to reprogram the camera in the wild when it's dirty and cold. So why not just get rid of the LED screen and program it offline by phone? It wastes space and battery life. The touchscreen is a problem, as it's easy to switch the camera to a different shooting mode when it's head-mounted and try to control it from there. There is a screen lock mode in the settings that must be activated to limit its occurrence. The on + off button is actually the on + video/photo mode toggle button. The top button can already turn on the camera and start recording, and the next time you press the top button, the camera will turn off. This feature is called "Quick Capture" in the settings and needs to be enabled. The power button is basically limited to putting the camera into a mode where settings and settings can be messed up.
