20191224 UPDATE: 10 months after purchase 2 out of 4 outlets stopped working. It was still under warranty, but I didn't do anything about it; too busy with life I've had it for 27 months now. It's still a 4x2 matrix that works fine, but I need a 4x4. Next time I'll spend a coin and hopefully get one that will go a long way. For the past 5 years I have used a separate 4x1 input device connected to a 1x4 output device. It was simple but cheap for my experiment to distribute HDMI to monitors scattered around a large house. Barrel length from 6 to 60 feet. At least one of these boxes stopped working, so I started looking for a replacement. I was willing to spend a lot of money this time, but this budget device seemed to do what I needed, and even more than one matrix (each source for each display) rather than just a repeater of the same signal for all displays. So far it works great. My only complaint is that the display isn't quite accurate (can't see the in-game save) and isn't as clear (lower resolution) as if I had connected the display directly to the source. That may be because there's a 720p display with three 1080p displays. As a general rule, the lowest resolution matters the most, and this box seems to be no exception. One day I'll upgrade to 720p and hopefully see improvements throughout the Matrix. However, I hope this box will last at least as long as my last experiment.
