My 10 year old son asked me to buy this item with his birthday money. He wanted a place to keep his money that his younger sisters (6 and 4) couldn't access. He seems to be doing this job satisfactorily. However, this is a toy. So if you need to reset the code you can remove the batteries, which could be a problem if little brother catches it. My husband found these sounds a little uncomfortable, but my son likes the beeps he makes. However, my son didn't like the voice responses he gives when you enter the passcode incorrectly because he's asking you to try again, not because the passcode you entered was wrong. He felt this remark encouraged his sisters to try breaking into his bank again. Overall, my son is happy with his new toy.
