I was looking for a basket to store my kitchen sponge (which is actually a Norwex dish strainer) in the sink so excess water runs down the sink to dry. In the past I've tried a small wire shelf basket with suction cup holders on the back. It kept slipping when the suction tubes came off the sink (for reference, my sink is stainless steel). I was tired of constantly moving it around, so I wanted to try a basket that could hang over the sink divider without the chance of it slipping or becoming detached. I didn't need a split basket because I only wanted to store a sponge in there and if there was extra space I could store dish soap in there but didn't want to limit myself to placing soap in one specific spot (which would be if the soap container fitted not there?). This seemed to fit the bill. However, it is much more than I expected. It's perfect for a sponge and soap dish with extra space but takes up too much space in the sink. I have a dish rack on the other side of the sink so this basket needs to hang on the side I wash dishes on. However, I can't put large bowls or pots in the sink when this basket is there. I wish it was smaller to just fit the sponge which would free up more space in the sink for soaking dirty dishes. The quality is really great and it does the job so it's not a defect in the product - I should have checked the measurements before buying.
