Great slicer for the money

My wife (Lisa) got this for Christmas and so far it has been a great slicer. I've shopped for years to find one with all the features I wanted at the price I wanted to pay and save on one feature, the Beswood 10" nailed it. Constructed entirely of stainless steel and aluminum , it's durable (read: beefy, at 35 pounds) seems well built, and slices like a dream Adjust from 0 to 1, I can get shaved thicks of ham, pastrami, and turkey all day Cart moves like silk and the slicing couldn't be easier. The cleaning is a bit tricky a hassle but I like to clean the whole block so I do my best The safety is built into the slicer and as long as you are careful and on it pay attention to what you are doing, you are unlikely to cut yourself during normal operation, cleaning requires kevlar gloves or similar to handle the blade Some things I would like a little different, but k just as a stopper: 1. I want blades removed better than three hex head screws. For those that unscrew, you have to put the locking bolt back into the blade to loosen it, often causing the blade to pop out and the slicer's base to jingle. Please note that when removing the blade, place a cloth or some kind of pillow there. suction cup feet. It would be nice. just say.3. Longer carriage tension for cutting bacon. Whatever the case, the cart just doesn't fit the full width of the pork belly. No big deal, just cut it in half and you're good to go, but that means the pieces will shrink as they cook and you'll end up with quite a bit of bacon. Good thing I have insane knife skills as a safety net. Aside from those three things, this is a dream cutter so far. The picture above is of a pastrami I made recently, and Beswood sliced the entire 8 pounds in just a few minutes with no effort on my part, except it didn't slide over the counter, mind you. Place a non-slip pad underneath.

Pros
  • Precisely cuts meat, cheese, vegetables, ham, fruit
Cons
  • Not automatic
