This coat reminds me of a blanket but in a smaller size for dogs. It goes on like a horse blanket. It has straps that attach with Velcro under the belly and wrap around the chest (also secured with Velcro). They didn't regret it with Velco either, it's enough to put on a coat safely! Nice and warm too. I spread it hard side out when it rains. It's not exactly waterproof, but it works better than the fleece side. I mostly lay out the fleece side because it's adorable. She gets compliments every time she wears it, which is a lot. I wear a sweater underneath because my dog gets cold very easily, but if your dog is a bit hardier than mine (LOL) you probably can't wear an extra sweater as this coat is quite warm. The Snuggles have 3 of these coats (pink, purple and black) but the pink is my favorite. The purple and black ones are cute too though.
