Review on Memphis Shades MEP6429 Solar Windshield (Replacement Plastic For Harley-Davidson 21&#34 by John Hickey

First the disadvantage. I had to go through several different windshields before I found one that would fit my 2003 Harley. The Memphis Shades people were no help. Sizes on the website do not matter. There is no relation to the edges. And every windshield I looked at seemed the same size?! No description available for 15 inch?, 17 inch? 19 inches? or 21 inches. This is the height to the top of the windshield. Spirit. So for me, trial and error won out. I just kept buying the one that seemed to fit best until I got lucky and got one that did. Once I received the correct windshield, it was installed with no problems. Do not attempt this on a bike. First remove the old windshield and all brackets. Put everything on a nice, large, flat, clean, and well-lit surface. Be careful when handling a new windshield as it scratches easily. I kept mine in a plastic bag the whole time I installed it. Then I removed the bag once it was installed on my bike. Slightly loosen the fasteners to remove the bag under each attachment point. Do not overtighten the fasteners. Suggest using open end wrenches instead of ratchets and sockets so you can get a better feel for the torque being applied to the fasteners. Note. You have to use old fasteners or buy new ones if they are rusty. New replacement brackets are not supplied with these replacement windshields. I will definitely buy again when this one gets old, scratched and crazy - just like me! Stay safe there.
