After 4000 hours, the bulb on my Optoma HD25-LV finally started to burn. I had to set the brightness to "Bright" instead of "Eco" because the "Eco" mode started flickering on white screens. This lasted until the 4500 hour mark when the lamp started giving me the message "Lamp Warning, Lamp Life Exceeded" and the white screens in "Bright" mode started flickering. I researched and ordered this bulb as others do not include the lamp housing and I will not lose $150 on a projector that is almost 6 years old. Installing this bulb is as easy as removing an old bulb. I turned on the projector, turned back the clock, tested the film a bit and browsed a few websites. The picture looked good, but everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. I smelled like burning plastic, which is concerning because I've read that cheap aftermarket projector lamps don't have proper UV light filtering, which is bad for your eyes. and may damage projector components. For websites with a white background, I then noticed flickering in the projector's "Bright" mode, while it was absent in the "Eco" mode, which is where I usually use this projector. I'll check if it lets UV rays through and let you know. if it's true Update: UV light leaks through the projector lens - at least enough to darken my Transitions glasses after 15 seconds.
