Review on GERUIKE Adhesive Towel Ring: Self-Adhesive Stainless Steel Rustproof Wall Mounted Bathroom Towel Holder by Dean Wilson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

A can of worms for me but made it work.

Overall appearance is good. It has a matte finish. I would say this is not solId but hollow core but still sturdy enough. I find it to be a plus because it doesn’t slam on the wall like others I’ve had in the past. However, I am not a fan of the plastic plugs that show on the wall base. They are unattractive. They seemed easy enough to remove but expect a can of worms there. It was easy to pop the ring out as it is not welded in and the rings pop out easily, however, the plastic caps are actually what keep the ends of the non contiguous ring in place. Having done this I found that their removal made the ring fall out of the wall bracket continually. Paln B .trim plastic end caps to conceal them. This was a bit more successful but you may have to bend the ring back in to get them to go back in snuggly. I did this while it was off the bracket and carefully replaced it so it would stay put. It seems to be ok but there is a slight misalignment that I admittedly may have caused. It looks fine and if anyone is looking that closely at my towel ring I think my alarm system would probably trigger and call the police. Ok, so now on to installation. Test a few spots before you commit and peel the backing off. This comes with a tube of glue which I was unaware of and not fond of. I did not want glue all over my beautiful new tile job.not for this piece. I tried with just the adhesive and it fell off after about 30 seconds.again Plan B.I had super strong 3m double sided tape and i used that and removed what seemed to be flimsy adhesive. It peeled off with no residue or problem at all. I applied my tape and it is currently curing on the wall with the tapes that they provide to secure during that time. If it doesn’t adhere I will go to plan C, which is using to command strips cut down to fit. I have used this method for other things in my house and it works but yiu have to cut the ez remove tabs off to conceal the strips. If you use a blowdryer and some moderate pressure it will pop off with some pressure. So the short, Cons. Pros*. Weak adhesive. *. Appears you can use your own adhesive tape* A bit flimsy on the contruction *. Can be modified whilst using caution*. Aesthetic lost to obvious plastic caps. *. Overall appaerance and feel, once modifed, is nice*. Had to make modifications to make it work. *. Nice powder coat matte finish that goes well with my oil rubbed bronze hardware

Pros
  • Super easy to install and holds up great.
Cons
  • The towel ring may not be suitable for a small bathroom
