Review on πŸ”Œ Enhance Efficiency and Safety with the Mophorn Transformer Voltage Automatic Regulator by Richard Payne

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works as it should but.

It works exactly as it should, but do yourself a favor and ignore the scale/wheel at the top that shows the output voltage. This sensor is useless as it doesn't take into account the voltage from the source (your outlet). For example, if your input voltage varies from 114V to 123V, the output voltage will change for the same wheel position. So just use the front display, it's close enough. I measured the accuracy of the front LCD with a DMM and it changed a bit from time to time, but it was ok. The meter read SLIGHTLY higher than the variac from about 0 to 70V. It was the same from about 70 to 110V, and the variac read higher than the multimeter from 110 to 140V. Since the jacks are parallel to the toes, it can you can control the output with either the display or a separate meter, but they're close enough that I don't think it will matter. I measured the voltage locally at my house at 121.6V, then I dialed 121.6V on my multimeter connected to the CVT. The multimeter read 121.6 volts while the CVT read 124. Some other voltage readings I took: (Meter/Variac), 30/28, 50/48, 70/69. 80/80, 90/90, 100/100, 110/112, 120/122, 130/133. The highest readings I got were 143.8/147V. Overall I'm happy with the accuracy, the case is heavy metal with simple and cheap electronics inside, but for less than $100 you get what you pay for You pay. Be careful with the top wheel as the device is heavy and you will instinctively grab it, but this is the weakest part. Grab/hold it from below or from the side. Some might say it's cheap, and it probably is compared to the Staco, but it's a fraction of the price and it only has to do ONE JOB and it gets the job done. Just ignore the top lane. It's useless. It shouldn't even be there as there is a front LCD. In fact, they should remove it and use those "savings" to add a metal handle on the top. If it broke I would like to know why. If it was my fault I would buy it again but it pisses me off I'll look into a used Staco with two jacks.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Some bugs
