I'm not a big ironer, I usually just throw them in the dryer for a few minutes. But I'm just learning to sew, so ironing is just part of it. I bought it so I don't have a huge ironing board. While this works well for my small quilt squares, I find the center crease to be tricky to iron on something larger, like a shirt. So if you need an ironing board for things like shirts and pants, I don't think this is a good buy for you. But if all you do is squares and tissues, that's fine :)
