I have spent a lot of time looking for laptop coolers. They range from a tiny fan to a massive fan to multiple massive fans. THERE ARE TOO MANY POSSIBILITIES. I would not recommend using this on your lap. It is designed to sit on a table. If you want a lap table look elsewhere or buy a tablet! I chose this one for a number of reasons. PROS: - The design is good. My laptop has rubber feet to stand up a bit to keep the aluminum from overheating. The fans make a robust impression. Movable fans. My laptop gets hot in the back left corner where my exhaust fan is. It's good to put two fans there and one over the battery. Love the moveable fan cooler, it's a HUGE value. - Raised frame. The raised frame really lets more air through. Nice feature that other coolers lack! - Energy efficiency. I was concerned that the MASSIVE fans would draw a lot of power over USB. Three fans did not affect the battery life. The USB plug has a USB hole on the back so you don't lose the USB slot. Lots of gum! It doesn't slide on my table. I entrust him with regular storage of my $2,000 laptop. cable management. I'm pretty sure I have OCD. Cables drive me crazy! This cooler makes it easy to wrap my cables in the back. - Calm. I can barely hear them and have to put my hand underneath to make sure they work. CONS: - Not as much cooling capacity as I had imagined. Do not get me wrong. This thing lowers my GPU/CPU temp, but don't expect miracles. The raised frame likely increases cooling more than the fans alone. Not very portable. I use the Everki sleeve for my 15.6 inch laptop so it's a bit tight. This device has a large "backend" and can be difficult to squeeze into a briefcase on a daily basis. However, I don't need a big cooler for simple work tasks, just for gaming. I can leave this thing at home for my high-end PC gaming. It's very good for the price. If you need a high-performance gaming cooling system, expect to pay a lot more money. It definitely has the highest value among laptop coolers.
