I love these containers. I mostly use them outside of bento boxes for snacks for my little one. They really are sealed. Today I had a watermelon in one of those containers and it was upside down in a lunch box on the beach. There is no spatter at all. I also use Tavva containers which seem to be of slightly better quality. If given a choice, I would buy all of the Tavva containers, but only 3 ounces of them fit in Lunchbots. So my advice would be to ditch those 4.5oz containers and instead use silicone cups from Lunchbots (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VQ9CQMD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_wyvxEbSXRCMXH) and then 3oz Tavva containers instead of 2 .5 ounce Lunchbots containers. .
