I read other reviews about gold flakes. But it can be fixed! I applied a thin coat of polyurethane to the gold part, a clear shine. Now it no longer peels off, there is no more loss of gold. No fading either. Hand wash only lightly. Remember you bought these glasses to surprise your dining table, now the beauty and brilliance will last a long time. I love my glasses, you can't tell I put a protective layer on them. That's the quality I wanted them to last. Now look at the glass I'm holding, it's coated, clean! It doesn't peel, look at the shine, I'll use it, but remember not to wash it in the dishwasher or submerge it in water, it's to show off.
