The screen is generally fine, but is fully powered via the USB cable that comes with the device. If it is connected directly to the computer, this is not a problem. If you must use a USB hub or an extension cable, the display will not initialize the touchscreen driver. If it had an optional DC input, this issue probably wouldn't exist. In addition, the border around the outside of the screen makes it difficult to touch objects near the edge of the screen.
