We got this car seat when our son screamed every time we used are old infant seat. The old seat didn't have good head support and sat funny even when installed "correctly" in the car. So we quickly decided to get a different seat. We have had chiccos before and so I knew they were a good brand and I was drawn to this one because it grows with them meaning we have to buy fewer seats. He loves this seat and it was very easy to install and use. We paired it with the chicco viaro stroller and they work well together. It clicks into place and releases easily for both the base and stroller. It has great head support and the body positioner works well. The only down side is it is significantly heavier than a normal infant seat but that's the trade off with the longer use. I have not tried to wash the pads other than spot cleans but the fabric is a heavy good quality one and hasn't stained yet even with a few blowouts/spitups. The only reason I gave it a 4 is because of the weight.
