Review on πŸ”’ Garmin Index Smart Scale: Wi-Fi Digital Scale with 16 User Recognition, Long Battery Life, in White by Andrea Gleason

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Contrary to what I've read on review sites, it's actually very good! - as long as you use Garmin Connect as your primary health tracker

I read many reviews on this scale before receiving it and was afraid I would want to return it. Weeks later I haven't sent it back. First off, if you don't use a Garmin device, don't use Garmin Connect, or don't have WiFi, DO NOT buy this scale. You must be using Garmin Connect on your phone and Wi-Fi to take full advantage of this device. I personally have a Garmin watch and it works great as all my data is visible on Garmin Connect. Difficult to share with other services. Pros: - It's relatively accurate. I checked the weight with a verified scale and the percentage of body fat with calipers, both are within acceptable ranges. Don't forget that you need to be standing on the scale correctly and barefoot for this to work well. I was afraid that the percentage of fat in particular would be far away - it's not, mine is within 0.5% - it's quite fast (the weight is there immediately, the rest takes about 8 seconds, after which you can get off balance) - you can have multiple users, although you'd want them all to be using Garmin Connect so that makes sense. However, it is a bit more convenient for a single user. - It looks good and the battery life seems decent so far (still full battery, used every day for 2 weeks) Cons: - It would be nice if it worked without a Garmin connection, but again if you don't plan to To use it, don't buy this scale as your main way to track your health stats. The manual isn't very clear, although what you need to get it working is fairly straightforward (basically install Garmin Connect and click Find Device.)
