We bought this camera because we take about 50% of the videos and 50% of the photos of our grandchildren's sports. We needed a fast camera with very clear video that would work in low light without a flash. We didn't want to change the lens either. This camera can do it all. It replaces the Sony HS50. So far we've been very impressed. We shot a wedding video in a very dark room, videos and footage of 3 soccer games and 7 lacrosse games. The 14-140mm lens (28-280mm SLR equivalent) is ideal for shooting video on sports fields and most action shots. We use Sandisk class 10 SD cards with a capacity of 16 MB. The LCD screen was difficult to see in very bright sunlight when the sun was shining from behind. No problem with the sun above or in front. We recorded videos in AVCHD(1080i) mode to watch directly on TV. However, most of our videos are in Motion-JPEG(HD) mode for DVD-Video creation and processing. For now we think we bought the best camera for our app. The best price I found was at the Revain market.
