I have this problem where I want to prepare myself in case I'm traveling and something on my computer isn't working. For example, I travel with two laptops in case my main laptop breaks down, which has happened before, and I had to hire a spare while it was being repaired, so I learned my lesson. I have this USB-C adapter in case one of my USB, SD or HDMI ports fails on my laptop. The USB-C adapter comes in a box in a plastic bag, no manual is needed. The adapter connects via USB-C and has 2 USB 3.1 ports, an SD and HDMI card reader for connection to a monitor/TV. I used HDMI and connected to my TV with no problems and it read my SD card from my tablet. I was curious if it matched the speed of my USB 3.0 on my Dell laptop and it was about the same. I copied a file from my USB drive to my computer with my USB drive on my computer and it was transferred at around 121MB/s and when I used the USB-C extender files were transferred at 117MB/s transferred, which is about the same. So I take it with me when I travel, just in case.
