I wanted this to be a 20ft retractable ladder weighing about 35# to hang from the trusses in the garage. The hanger seems to be suitable for this application, which is also noted in the description as a possible use. While the hooks seem to work fine, it would be more stable to place the hooks further apart, say 4 inches. The supplied screws were unnecessary as the first one burst when tightened; They were too brittle so I replaced the structure. I wouldn't recommend using plastic drywall anchors, they probably won't hold. If used on a covered ceiling I would recommend screwing 2x4's through 2 or 3 ceiling joists to the joists and then fitting brackets to them. The line needs some finesse to make sure it ends on the axle and not the pulley.
