I got my Altura 8mm fisheye lens for my Nikons and found the learning curve to use was about 5 minutes. The easy to understand videos about the lens got me shooting quickly and enjoying the lens. I noticed that the lens shakes a bit on my Nikon D3300. It didn't snap into place when installed, and turning the lens hood to the left caused the lens to detach. When installed it moved (rattled) but when it stabilized everything was fine. However, it was easy to just prop the camera up while holding the lens in place, using frames on the lens to keep it from shaking between shots. I tried the same lens on my Nikon D3500 and the play was gone and the lens locked in place just like a lens should! Apparently the mounting hole is slightly larger on the D3000 than on the D3500. It can therefore be used on both cameras with a little care, but when using it on the Nikon D3000 you have to be careful not to loosen it. This is a MANUAL lens. No autofocus, no surveillance, so you have to set the camera to "M" and adjust the lens manually. Set your camera's ISO and shutter speed, take a few test shots and go! The affordable price of this lens outweighs any minor annoyances that come with the D3300's gameplay. It comes with an interesting LARGE zippered lens case, so you'll need to free up space in your camera bag. All in all it's a keeper and I'll use it often. To edit! BONUS! The sky was blue and the sun was shining brightly in the photo. The lens is presented with a natural, sharp solar flare, which is a great accent!
