Very cool camera! Slip it around the neck of your wetsuit and paddle with no worries or in the outside pocket of your ski jacket on a cold, snowy day, or snap a few shots and then toss it on the raft bottom - this camera has stood the test of all the abuse so far that I can endure. . Image Quality: Takes great pictures, really great outdoor photos, and really good indoor photos. The quality of the panoramic image isn't that good, but it's certainly not bad. The Auto function seems to take great pictures, but it's fun to play with all the different capture modes (again, Auto mode captures pictures in the correct mode anyway). Amazing underwater photos when there is some light in the scene. Not very good underwater photos when the sun is going down or you are shooting in the shade of a riverbank. A small LED indicator might help with this, but I haven't tried it yet. The video seems good, but the audio is a bit quieter. Can be a little disappointing if you're a real video snob. XD card - I had no problems with this, although I thought I would. This is no reason to reject this camera. The 2GB memory card had enough space for plenty of photos and plenty of 10 second videos. Battery life: Wasn't a problem. The low battery indicator seems to light up a bit earlier, but even when the low battery indicator lights up, there's still enough juice left. Other positives: It's great to have a lens cap that retracts automatically. Quickly! The shutter release hardly lags. The screen is bright and easy to see even in the sun. It just feels solid like it won't break (or break) if you drop it. A word of advice: get a transparent cover for the LCD screen. Mine was a bit scratched after a few rides in cycling shorts with some sand. Or keep it in a small pouch or case, although just pulling it out of your pocket for a quick shot isn't bad. Check the seals just before entering the water and blow away any sand that may have gotten into the water. .Buy a colorful camera so you can find it at the bottom of a raft or the bottom of a river.
