So this article popped up on a search to find something to help keep the bars off my cartilage piercing. Judging by the pictures there will be no problems. I ordered it, it came, I checked it and made sure it worked, I picked up little things like a paper clip or a computer chip. It works just as well as what I had in my first set of engineering tools. It has a knurled handle and an aluminum body. First, it takes more effort than I think to even get the prongs out. Arthritis was unfortunate. I finally decided to try this with the ends of my piercings. Seems to be holding up well. thought it would be perfect. I have used it to successfully replace the curved rod in my anti-tragus with a spiral rod. The twisted ends of the spiral resemble a dragon's claw squeezing an amethyst stone. Its diameter is 4.8 mm. I try it out with one of the curved rod balls. The tines pick up the ball and I let go so they fix the ball. The pins snap into the tube and I can't see the ball. I push the plunger again and the ball pops out when the teeth reach a certain point. Dumbbell balls have a diameter of 3.0 mm. So I measured the opening of the tube where the pins are held. 3.8mm in diameter. It cannot securely grip anything smaller than 3.8mm in diameter. The spring in the piston is VERY strong. The knurled grip and resistance of this spring make it easy to irritate the palm and break it when trying to use it. She couldn't even do what she was bought to do and that was Revane's Choice. ?
