Review on Audio Technica ATH CKR7TW True Wireless Headphones by Adam Fido ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The item is of good quality, there is only one minor defect.

The overall impression is good: the sound is great with a large frequency range: the bass is densest, the midrange is transparent, the high frequencies do not cut the brain, the performance is of high quality, the interlocutor hears well in the call mode (there were no complaints), the autonomy is very good. Happy with the headphones. Its pros: Sound! Elastic, clear bass, treble and bass in abundance, the volume with a margin. More than 80% I do not twist. aac, aptx codecs. There were no delays while watching the video. When landing in a case, the headphones turn off by themselves and start charging. Main right. It also has voice prompts in English for women and conversations when making calls. The left one connects to it. Separately, without the right, the left will not play, and the right will play without the left. The case is large but well made. The hinges are reliable. Button opening. Landing magnets are strong and won't fall out. The quality of the plastic is normal, but scratches appear over time. Headphone and case charging indicator combined 3 dot (blue/white). The silicone ear pads are very good, 4 pairs, the headphones do not fall out, there are 3Dloop rubber bands for additional fixation, but with them my ear cartilage started to hurt and I don’t use them, I think they are useful for playing sports. The sound isolation in the headphones is the best I have seen, the same as in the sennheiser ie4 (for me they were the standard). The headphones have mechanical control buttons, they are located at the ends, which is very reasonable, you don’t have to put pressure on your ear, and accidental presses are also excluded, as is the case with touch ones. Has some cons: 1. In my gray version, the plastic is illuminated in the dark by a diode, which for such a price was a surprise to me. In the black version, this may not be the case. 2. Lack of moisture protection. 3. Autonomy is declared 15 hours (6 headphones + 9 case). I did not take measurements, but according to my feelings, the actual autonomy is 2 times lower - with a case about 7-8 hours. I listen on the aptx codec. Because aptx has higher power consumption than sbc, I suspect that the manufacturer declared autonomy at 15 hours with the usual sbc codec. 3. Micro usb 4. Misunderstandings with the ate: planned or not? There is an application in the market, but it is so amorphous and the most useless: there is geolocation, setting commands for buttons, changing codecs (although this is also in the developer options), shows the headphone charge (and both of them and not separately! ), manuals! All! This application might not even exist! 5. Sometimes there are breaks between the headphones: the left one is torn from the right one, I attribute this to interference from different sources. The manual says that if there are interruptions, then you need to switch to the sbc codec. Apparently this is a feature of bluetooth technology and "heavy" codecs. Not critical the sound in the right remains, but it is not pleasant and the reason is not clear. ate: 1. after a month of operation, I remove the disadvantage of autonomy and transfer it to advantages: measurements showed 3 × 5.5 hours at a volume of 90% (5.5 hours headphones + 2 full charges from the case) for a total of almost 17 hours, which is more than stated by the manufacturer. 2. I listen to music on aac and there are no breaks at all either through clothes or through walls. On aptx, for some reason, there were breaks, apparently for the tws headphone format, the aptx codec is not very refined or heavy, and probably for this reason, manufacturers are in no hurry to import it into tws.
