Review on LUCID Inch Latex Hybrid Mattress by Sarah Watson

There are two reviews here: The first concerns the mattress. This is a very well made mattress. It consists of multiple layers - spiral, foam and latex - and a soft, cooling upper. I think it will last for many years. However, we had to return it as it is not 'medium hard' as advertised. It's downright difficult. This is due to the layer of latex on the upper. If you want memory foam to "sink" into your mattress before you feel the support, do not order this model. With this model, you lie on the bed with little to no sink. Some people will like this aspect (again, the cover is very nice and attractive), but not us. I suspect this applies to all latex mattresses. So the overall rating of the mattress is very well done, great price but be aware this is a COMPANY and make your purchasing decision accordingly. Now for the return process, which was handled by a third party, Pilot Freight Services. They get F's across the board. Initially, it took over a week for them to be added to their pickup calendar. Then, on the day of my return, I stayed home from work, but no one from the pilot showed up. No call, nothing. I called the office, they didn't offer an explanation but said they could schedule me 2 days later next time - unacceptable. This time the guy showed up, but he immediately walked across the carpet in my living room in work boots, and then. He dragged the mattress out the door, across the dirty sidewalk, and threw it in his truck! I couldn't believe it. This mattress was in perfect condition; it was too hard for us. Now it's going to the landfill, although a lot of people would LOVE it. It was really disturbing to watch. I would like to arrange delivery of donations, but instead Pilot Freight Services is dropping a mattress in like-new condition. Absolutely shameful. (And after an absurdly long wait.) So a good mattress at a great price for those who like fairly firm beds. And shame on Pilot Freight Services. Revane needs to sever all ties with this junk company.
