I have a 13 lb cat and this backpack is a great size. It fits comfortably. I received the blue and really love the color. I also like the design. There's a pocket for a roll of bin liners, a water bottle, and a zip pocket for other small items. These are ventilation grilles and hard fabric options to cover viewing platforms and a hard base for the cat to sit on. HOWEVER, lying on your back is incredibly uncomfortable, or rather, painful. I went for a short walk and my back screamed for the rest of the day and the next. The rigid base digs into your back without relief no matter how you adjust the straps. There is a pocket above the base and I tried stuffing it with bubble wrap and bags to see if it would keep it off my back, but not enough to make me think I could take this pack on a hike take along. Since it was about traveling with him, I'll return him and continue my quest. So sad because I love everything about this backpack. It's just uncomfortable at the back. If your goal is to carry your cat from the car to the vet, chances are you can handle it, and this backpack is roomy enough for your cat. If they redesigned it so that the bottom doesn't rest against your back, that would be perfect!
