Snaps seem plenty sturdy!
I am very happy with this sweater. I bought the navy color, end it is the traditional navy color. I was concerned that the fabric where the snaps were might not be sturdy enough to keep them in place. But the fabric is heavier where the snaps are. From reading a number of reviews, I decided to go a size up. So I bought the large. I wanted to be able to "button" all the snaps. The large is actually perfect! I am 5'5 and weigh 125#. I'm 64 and have a thicker midsection than I had in my younger years.
