This camera is awesome! I like that most of the settings are on top of the camera rather than having to navigate the LCD screen. Also, I like the fact that the flash pops up, which gives me the option of not using it even though there is a flash warning icon on the camera. Macro and super macro are truly amazing qualities that made the difference in choosing this camera. If you're familiar with both digital cameras and old-school photography, including shutter speeds and light meters, this camera is ready to go. I barely looked at the instructions before I started taking some amazing photos. I read them carefully after getting to know the camera and they are well written and easy to understand. This camera gave me a lot of control over how I wanted my photos to look. The LCD screen is huge. 2" allows me to see everything I need before I take a picture, which is why I hardly use the viewfinder. The reason I say it's not for the amateur is because it has a lot of features. If you don't understand how to use all the functions as best as possible, as well as different lighting and depth, a lot can go wrong. this is not your typical digital point and shoot shoot. easy to use, i recommend the fuji a340. it has 4 megapixels and it's practically reliable. I bought one for my dad for Father's Day last year and it's so easy to use that even my mom can take great pictures (sorry mom)! For the most part I've found that both cameras take great pictures that have a comparable quality at maximum resolution and both have about the same price.
