Review on Enhance Your Riding Experience with Go Cruise GC-A1BK GO CRUISE 2 Universal Throttle Control System in Sleek Black by Timothy Johnson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

After trying 3 other cruise control/throttle lock systems this was the BEST!

Here it is. After getting an older Honda CB and getting used to riding it further and further, I began to miss the luxury of electronic cruise control on my modern bikes. I've gone through 4 different devices including this one and I think I've finally found "Goldilocks" throttle lock nirvana - not too expensive but not too useless/disappointing either! In short, this device is the perfect length. that it doesn't interfere with lower mirrors, has a plastic pad on the underside to avoid scratching the brake lever, and a great tensioning screw that holds more tension than other similar devices. Also, there's a lot of aluminum in the stressed areas, so I don't foresee any cracks or breaks on a long ride. Satin finish that offers perfect grip and friction - it doesn't slip at all during use, but you can still easily let go of the throttle to turn off the cruise control. In a word: it's perfect! The only thing I would like to see is if this unit can come with a ribbed rubber strap to prevent the cruise control from sliding from side to side. This isn't a problem with my grips as they are tapered, but I've seen this problem with grips of the same diameter. Others I have tried are below: - Atlas gas lock: The design is very "sleek". and it's easy to control with big knobs, but on older or multi-carb bikes with a strong gas spring, it tends to slip very easily and you can't keep a constant speed very long. In my case I tried using it on my CBX and still had issues with slippage, even with many combinations of adjustments/rubber pads and even adding grip tape. However, I see it working well for newer bikes with weaker springs. Also, the price is a bit high for what it is. BrakeAway Cruise Control: I've enjoyed using it on my Yamaha Bolt that I've ridden, it's probably the safest and most intuitive setup. However, on many older bikes, such as the narrow CB/CBX handlebars, there is not much space to mount a support arm. Also, it's very expensive for what it is, but it works well. It is very similar to OEM but very expensive. MyBand Motorcycle Cruise Control Clamp: Similar to the GO CRUISE 2 but much longer and interferes with low mirrors. Also, the adjustment screw is too small to ensure adequate tightening and unlike this device, it is painted with smooth paint so it slips too easily even with very tight tightening.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • There are nuances
