The new gold standard in GPS golf watches

X40 for three days and bought it to replace both my Fitbit Charge HR watch and Garmin S2 golf watch. So far the X40 has exceeded my high expectations: it's a bit thicker than the Fitbit, but not bad given the tech it has. The strap is comfortable but a bit thin. Hope this lasts long. - GPS works great, scoring is intuitive and the Connect app provides shot-by-shot replay with a view of each hole. - I played a round of golf and only used about 30% of the battery - The screen is easy to see even in bright sunlight and wearing sunglasses - The heart rate function seems to work just as well as Fitbit HR. - The notification function is ok, especially for messages and phone calls. The screen is too small for news reports. - The alarm clock has a slight vibration, probably fine except for the most sound sleepers. - Although the X40 has an option for the screen backlight, I don't think it's necessary. When you touch the screen in the dark, it lights up briefly so you can see the time display, for example. The Connect app syncs seamlessly with the X40 and offers many options for browsing data. I recommend you spend some time with the online manual. Bottom line: Garmin has wowed one of those golf tech addicts who also want to keep track of their fitness metrics.
