It lacks the support/security of the rear view mirror but I solved this problem with hair ties to create the much needed tension to keep it in place. But other than that, I have to say that this is an extremely impressive phone mount. I was very satisfied, despite some unpleasant nuances. These annoying nuances are due to the fact that I'm a bit awkward using the product, so it's not fully designed to work directly on the mirror the way I intended it to. Because I don't drive with rear-view mirrors at all. And I don't want the phone to create a blind spot. I haven't had a problem with the phone falling or anything, and it's useful for a variety of other reasons too. I'm tempted to buy more of these if they ever get discontinued and I need to buy a second one or a replacement. If I have one problem, it's that I really just need a better grip. Both in terms of clamping and non-slip rubber pads. My mirror is made of smooth, rounded plastic that makes it difficult to hold in place without hair ties.
