Review on Champion Sports Official Lacrosse Balls - Assorted Colors in Convenient Packs of 2, 3, 6, and 12 by Josh Tadder

Best option for my aggressive chewer (dog variant)

My 75 lb Shepherd mix probably only spends an hour actively chewing his ball each day, but he has a very strong jaw. We also use it to play fetch. It can crack a hollow racquetball in about 10 minutes of chewing, and tennis balls even faster, so lacrosse balls were a great alternative. Hard vulcanized rubber is safer from a chemical leaching perspective (as I understand it) and the ball fits into a throwing grip originally designed for a tennis ball. However, these balls do not float. Since rubber breaks down when exposed to ultraviolet light, I'm keeping the ball on the inside. Once the ball starts to break down (wear and tear on that strong jaw) after about 4 weeks, small pieces start to flake off and then I usually change balls. I buy them occasionally.
