DO NOT BUY: Razer Huntsman Elite (Red or Purple Switches) BUY: Huntsman v2 Analog or Huntsman Mini say this keyboard is perfect. Generation 1 linear switches are definitely an issue with this keyboard, as the springs make them soft and loud. The case also has a twisting issue where most Elite models tend to flex, although this is usually minor, in severe cases this can prevent the palm rest from attaching. Aside from those two things, this keyboard is perfect. Linear opto-mechanical switches have a very fast response, which is noticeable when used next to another keyboard. This can lead to typos when you're first learning the keyboard, but it's worth sticking with because once you've developed muscle memory naturally, typing on this keyboard will be a joy. The media keys are good too, and the volume control works great, although they're not keycaps and don't have see-through RGB. The faux leather palm rest is good, but it might not fit perfectly if your model starts to warp, which can usually be fixed by bending it back down. Also, avoid sweating on it, as your skin's oils can damage the palm rest over time and eventually break it. Although this board doesn't have PBT keycaps, it fits well with this board's theme of maximizing chroma lighting around the keyboard. In any case, the ABS keycaps have a nicer font, the only thing missing from the number keys are the highlighted sub-letters. If you want replacement keycaps you will need to purchase Razer keycaps as the Huntsman Elite does not have a standard bottom row. Pros - Crazy lighting effects Eh - Comfortable typing even without 2nd gen switches - Good twin braided USB cable, poor placement in the middle board - Media keys work great and useful - ABS keycaps fit this board well and warp over time - Palm rest warps over time distorting RGB effects at certain angles - Leatherette palm rest requires maintenance - Media keys not backlit - Custom bottom row - Gen 1 linear opto-mechanical switches ping very loudly - Overpriced (This keyboard is $130) You should Only buy this keyboard if you want the ultimate in RGB backlighting on your keyboard, as Gen 1 line switches noticeably interfere with keyboard typing. The inevitable warp issues on the board, while usually minor, are annoying for a $200 board. [ 5/10 โญ Not recommended ]
