Review on ๐ŸŽง Sennheiser OfficeRunner DECT 6.0 Wireless Office Headset with Microphone - Classic Silver: Unmatched Audio Quality and Comfort by Cody Michels

Revainrating 3 out of 5

If you are looking for better sound, this headset is NOT for you. . .

I did a lot of research before purchasing the headset. I've been checking out the reviews here on Revain and video conferencing people I know at the company to see what they're using in their jobs. I watched the video on the Sennheiser website. Everything I read and heard indicated that Sennheiser headsets were high quality products. When I received OfficeRunner I was impressed. Fit, material and workmanship were first class. It is evident that a lot of effort and attention to detail has gone into this product. Unfortunately, my impression of the sound quality was not very good. The sounds "s" and "t" are muted. There just weren't any high frequencies. In general, I would characterize the quality of the connection as fuzzy or grainy. This headset fell short of Sennheiser's video claim of being "just like a face-to-face conversation." In all honesty, I'd say that my $50 Plantronics MX 500C wired headset offers much better sound quality for less money. On the Sennheiser website under "Specifications" you can see that their narrowband tuning works from 300Hz to 3500Hz and their wideband tuning works from 150Hz to 6800Hz. I didn't see that before buying the headset, otherwise I would have thought so. The range of human hearing is typically between 20 and 20,000 Hz. Hearing over a limited bandwidth is tiring and taxing, especially if you are on a lot of phone calls. For me, sound quality comes first. headset.com customer support agents were a great help. (You get 5 stars.) I tested two devices using an RJ45 2.5mm audio cable connected to a DECT 6 phone and also FaceTime connected to my Mac via USB. I also called Sennheiser customer service with pre-sales questions - they were more than willing to answer all of my questions. I thank all of you. Unfortunately I had to return the item as it doesn't matter if you can't hear your interlocutor.
