I am sorry to write this review. I have been using this food since my German Shepherd was 6 months old. Now he is 3.5 years old. I've had several issues in the past, maybe 2-3 times in the last 3 years. Overall I was happy with this meal. But it was never as bad as this time. A few weeks ago when I opened a new bag and fed him he developed terrible (watery) diarrhea. Transplanted him to rice chicken for a few days and his poo got better. I thought maybe it wasn't the food, so I slowly started introducing him to the same bag of food. The watery diarrhea returned immediately! OK. back to rice and chicken. a few days later he was fine again. Then I sent the bag back and got a new bag. I slowly started to introduce him to the new bag. His poop never got better, it was thin (not watery) and smelled very bad. He vomited bile almost every day, which is unusual. Good. Back to chicken and rice. I didn't stop and went to the pet store and bought another bag. I always thought it was a bad batch of food. He certainly got better after the chicken and rice, but when I started feeding him a new bag the diarrhea returned. bad odor, irregular stools. He lost his appetite by not touching kibble anymore. (of course we took him to the vet and reduced his food as soon as the symptoms appeared) he is weak and lethargic. lost a few pounds. now he's on rice and chicken. The vet recommended a new brand that he used as a puppy. The vet also told us not to use this brand due to lack of quality control. I hope things clear up and I start introducing him to his new food. I went through this after using this food for the last 3 years. I've had several other incidents in the past that resulted in him having diarrhea on start. for a new bag. but it's never been that bad. I got a new bag and after a few days of rice chicken his droppings are better. Also, he never had any other symptoms like vomiting, weakness, lethargy. He was a happy pup, but not now. It's very sad to see him like this. I hope pet food manufacturers take this seriously and do their job!
