I did some shopping and settled on this cast iron beauty. There are many negative reviews about most tea cosies: no airflow to keep the candles burning, the heating pad is too deep for the flame to reach the pot, etc. I have tried the Old Dutchman and am very satisfied. I use it for my Yama 5 inch glass teapot. In order for the flame of the candle to reach the teapot I put a small stand inside (for burning incense/resin charcoal) to allow the candle to sit and it works like a charm. (See photo) I also chose Stonebriar tea lights which have a 6 hour burn time which allows me to add water until all my leaves are washed out. This thing is durable (I mean cast iron), classy, and just sticks to my coffee table - even when it's not in use. I'm sure it will last the rest of my life and if not it won't break the bank to buy a replacement. Would sure be a great gift for a tea lover.I didn't realize I needed this until I got it.
