This 405 gear was bought for studio and architectural work. This is the gear head. Gears can lose friction and slip if not properly maintained. I keep the head in a foam box when not in use and intend to transport it in this box whenever possible to protect the gears from wear. I wouldn't even bother leaning this head against a wall as it could damage the gears. I would be uncomfortable throwing this in my trunk as it could loosen the gears.
