Review on πŸšͺ Carlson Pet Yard and Super Wide Convertible Gate by Teresa Jones

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Well built and engineered BUT it is smaller than a plastic super yard and requires a superstructure

It was very easy to put together and by far the best dog playpen I have ever had. If you have the ability to mount it on the wall, enlarging it would be ideal. You need mounts. We wanted it to stand alone. I should have measured it before ordering but it sounded pretty big. We put a small puppy bed and a plastic pee mat in it and they took up all the space so we didn't have to run around the room. I didn't expect it to be so small. I looked online at the manufacturer's website and ordered an extension that should make it a little bigger. I would recommend using a tape measure and then setting up everything your dog needs inside so you don't get caught off guard. It costs money but I wish they had an extension on the Revain website and I had to go to another one and look up the model numbers to find what I need. It would be easier if all of this was available through Revain. I am now waiting an extra week for my extension. The extension costs about $50. All in all, if you're looking for something durable, this is fine. If you don't want anything heavy, this probably isn't for you. We had the Super Play plastic handle which is a lot lighter than this but definitely better quality, lasts forever and can be converted into a goal with the right wall brackets from the manufacturer's website. He is very tall. Our dog will most likely never be able to jump out. Another advantage is that our dogs have long hair and plastic play handles cause tangles. This one won't as far as I can tell. The dividers are a good size to keep our pup from running away. :)

Pros
  • All steel construction
Cons
  • Small parts
