This was my first try. The color is not consistent. Disappointing as kit does not state mix the pot. I believe once mixed would have consistent color although I have not tried. So here is what I learned (1) prep nails pushing back cuticles and shape (2) wipe with rubbing alcohol- do not touch nail again (3) mix the pot color (4) don’t be afraid - step one does not dry as fast as everyone says. You have adequate time to apply and dip (4) the base coat is the most important. Have to get this right. Keep on the nail if on cuticle or surrounding skin the dip will stick and it will be difficult to remove. The better the base the less mess and file (5) the dip - Difficult! They say dip at 45 degree angle. Apparently I do not know what that is as if you dip incorrectly the base coat will get messed up and the dip will clump. I did my toes and could not dip instead I poured it on. Worked great and easier than trying to make sure at correct angle. It may be that the pots are small and need more room to dip. I don’t know but will try using Tupperware container (6) Activator stinks bad. Suggest apply outdoor (7) use an electric nail filer. You will have a horrible time if using the file. An electric kit has multiple size attachments which work great next to cuticle (8) Gel coat. This too has noticeable odor. Apply outdoors. Make sure the gel coat is dry before applying a second coat. I am not sure why but my gel coat was not smooth. I filed off and applied again a bit better. I ended up only applying the one coat. Once dry I applied my usual Out The Door topcoat. They look okay but not perfect. I did nails and toes. Surprisingly did not use that much of the powder. It would be a lot easier if the base coat was colored to see exactly where it is but more of guessing game. All said I am looking forward to next try.
