Review on πŸ”Œ Shield and Secure Your Electronics with the Port Plug Power Strip Protector by Carlos Phillips

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Decent plug but poor quality

Wall mounted power plug under the table for various computer devices. Physically, it feels of good quality, including its thickness and a fairly long cord. The problems are in the details. I have installed it several times in different places. Mounting plates do a good job but aren't perfect so sometimes you get a clean mount if it "snaps" securely and stays in place, other times it kinda pops up and half out. The quality of the sockets themselves really leaves a lot to be desired. Each socket has a different feel and vague feel that sometimes really resists the plug, but at the same time it's not secure. Power supplies can even fall out. Not terribly impressive, I have to say, but for the price and overall decent metal construction, it doesn't quite deviate from the realm of reasonable value. Well, at least not entirely. If I bought it again I would look elsewhere. Edit: After using this fork for 6 months I downgraded my rating from 3 to 2. The problem described above of sockets not feeling safe when I plug something in has gotten a lot worse. Basically, all outlets loosen as you use them, and power supplies and cords are prone to sagging, having intermittent connection issues, and sometimes even falling out (the plug is wall-mounted so the cords go out to the side). I will look into another product as a replacement.
