Whatever you do, DO NOT REMOVE the cardboard inside the gold metal. I don't remember reading anything about cardboard in the instructions. I thought it was for packaging and that it would pose a fire hazard, but turns out it works as insulation. I ordered two of these as gifts for my boyfriend's parents. One drinks Evan Williams Whiskey daily and the other Beringers White Zin. When my friend's mum came over to turn it on, the lamp flared up and blew a hole through the (thin) metal. My friend's father took it apart and immediately noticed the insulation was missing and replaced it with duct tape. For an Evan Williams bottle, the middle cork was too small and the large cork was too big, so I cut it off with a knife. The center cork was too small for a Beringers bottle, but we broke the glass at the nose and layered taped/narrowed the opening. The cork is stuck.
