At the beginning of the pandemic I bought a video conferencing ring light. The ring light contained a wide-mounted mini tripod that took up too much desk space to remain mounted; I unpacked it for use and then put it in a box. I ordered this stand to permanently mount a ring lamp on my SOHO computer desk. The stand is well made and simple: a telescoping mast made of aluminum tubing attaches to a metal table clamp with ample plastic grips on metal threaded ties. The top mount is a standard 1/4" threaded metal rod on a 1/2" diameter metal platform; After loosening the mast clamp, rotate the mast to attach the ring light. Releasing the mast clamp allows for vertical adjustment as well as horizontal rotation; no tilt adjustment. The ring-lit mast sits on the wall behind my computer desk until I need it. This stand is also great for webcams: most webcams fit a standard 1/4" screw connection and have their own tilt adjustment. The stand is strong enough to support heavier items, but I wouldn't put a camcorder or DSLR on it mount this stand. The 1/2" diameter stand platform is too small to support the camcorder/DSLR base: any torque applied to the camera body can pull the 1/4" threaded socket out of the camera base. This problem does not occur with small, light webcams.
