It has been a little over 3 years since I bought this 2 bay hard drive station. Used only once a week for backups. Tried to use the clone function once right after purchase. The cloning function was very slow until it hung after one night. This corrupted my original 512GB hard drive and the drive would not mount at all afterwards. It was devastating! Never tried this function again. Fast forward to recently when I bought a new 6TB hard drive. Used it for Time Machine backups, but when the read/write activity exceeds a certain threshold (i.e. the volume is backed up and encrypted at the same time as macOS), the blue/red LEDs go out (as if it lost power). At this point, the volume becomes problematic and it will crash macOS along with it. The hard drive will sound like it's still running tasks, even though it's no longer visible in macOS and both LEDs are off. The only solution is to turn off the dock (at the risk of destroying the hard drive) and reboot. This is something I would ABSOLUTELY not recommend. Use at your own risk!
