Great Skates! very simple but great for beginners. However, be honest with yourself and consider if you think your child has good balance and could be good at it, get the best ones. Daughter because she doesn't need anything faster but surprisingly after a few weeks she was running much better than me and wanted to go faster. I put some oil on the bearings and it helped a lot, but the bearings and tires aren't very good. I figured I could just replace the tires with better ones, but the price of better skates would be cheaper than upgrading them.
