Review on 🧵 Bo-Nash 2-Oz Fusible Bonding Solution by Amanda Castillo

Very disappointing

Very disappointing. I tried patching holes in the wool but didn't get results like the video. It dries hard and shiny if you use too much. She just sprinkles powder like it's nothing to worry about, but that's a big mistake. Excess powder cannot be brushed off as it will immediately fall on the fibers. So I've experimented with different amounts of powder and scraps of fabric and would say that with practice I could get the result I wanted, but for a quick fix I don't recommend it. This can be great for hemming, but it certainly won't work for pinning a hole in the yarn, as you can see in the video. I even tried 3 different irons thinking that maybe the iron wasn't hot enough and that's why it came out hard, but it didn't matter. I think less fabric and less powder is better, so I suggest picking up the powder and just using a pinch and trying to apply it to just the patchwork. I thought it would be a great way to salvage beautiful pieces of wool with moth holes, but instead I ruined a beautiful red vintage Pendleton blazer because it was so obvious where I had used the powder. Kudos to everyone who figured out how to use this for holes and it worked well because I definitely didn't get it right and think I'm pretty smart and tricky myself.

Pros
  • Glues the fabric immediately
Cons
  • Exorbitant price
