I got this for my daughter's 14th birthday 3 weeks ago. It's her freshman year of high school and I thought it would be perfect for bathroom time, which is a lot. We charged it for 6 hours and paired it with her 4th gen iPod with no problems. The sound was loud and clear enough for this small speaker with plenty of bass to match. It's not an Airplay iHome so don't expect it but for my daughter it's perfect. She loves all types of music and as far as I can tell the little unit sounded really good for the money. The first week before school she didn't use it that much and it worked for about 4 days. However, for the first week of school she used it every morning and evening (only in the bathroom) and lasted about 6 days with it. She turns it on before school (when he dies. He turns himself off) and when she gets home he's ready to spend more time in the bathroom. She makes sure to turn it off after each use to save battery (I think she likes the POP sound). She. Maybe a user error? Cleaner surface? I don't think it should last long due to the weight, but there are plenty of places to put it without putting too much strain on the suction cup. The controls seem simple enough to remember without looking at them. You are "educated" enough to feel them. She likes it very much. I bought this for her on a whim because it really is what she needs for her bathroom. She only used her iPod because I didn't want her showing us her iHome clock in a wet bath. I'm glad it was a winner.
