Review on ISpring FG15B KS Replacement Cartridge Filtration by Juan Lockwood

I've been looking for decent filters for years. I had one that worked fine, but then the company sold that division (GE) and it became cheap junk like most others I've tried. Some of the other filters I tried left residue, odors, iron (rust) and some even added rust to my lines I think. So far it's the best I've seen. The rust stains in the toilets went away immediately (they used to have to be cleaned every week and I have city water so I don't know where the rust came from) and haven't reappeared for over a month. The design of the filter is really interesting as it maximizes the surface area when filtering and has built in elements that prevent dirt such as algae from growing inside the filter. I checked the flow after installing a new one and it was slightly better than the other filters when they were new (about 1 GPM more). They're supposed to last longer than the cheaper ones so I'll check the flow regularly and see if it's getting worse or not, but so far so good. Yes, it's more expensive than the last ones I've used, but if they last longer, keep removing or at least not adding rust, prevent algae buildup in the filter, and don't decay over time (yes (I've had this told me by the manufacturer before, this is normal and shouldn't be harmful, but I don't like the idea of drinking charcoal particles) then maybe even cheaper over time, and will definitely give you one better quality and less maintenance then it's a winner. If I test it, I will update more if anything disappoints. As a side note, I contacted the company with a few questions and their replies were quick and to the point, and a few months later they got back to making sure the product was still working the way I like it. So far everything is of good quality.
