Review on Bridgestone Dueler H/P Sport 225/55 R18 98V summer by Andrey Kolev ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not exactly the product I wanted, the price and quality do not match.

My tires are 265/50/R19. What can I say about them. These tires are quite rigid, have a strong sidewall, and are practically not afraid of holes. Handling on dry pavement is not even bad, there are no complaints about braking either on dry or wet surfaces. By car, the total mileage is almost 60 thousand km, now the 3rd season for these tires, they are no longer enough for 4. If we take the mileage without winter tires, then these tires drove about 35 thousand i. e. they are enough for me for about 40 thousand km. For myself, I consider this a good result, I often drive along the highway, while quite quickly and actively. By the end of the second season, my previous tires, in principle, were asked to be thrown into the trash, because. the remaining tread was minimal, and there were some that could be thrown out after the first season. Therefore, in terms of wear resistance, I consider these tires to be quite good. On snow and off-road, I mean mud, wet grass and so on, they are none, but they are not required to be, these are highway tires. The noise from these tires is quite strong, but it does not really bother me. But what I didn’t like about these tires was just wild aquaplaning, and from new. I have never had these tires. When it gets into a deep puddle or into a rut with water after a heavy rain, it immediately “floats up” and the car loses controllability, while the speed is adequate and corresponds to road conditions. Moreover, as wear and tear, this effect becomes stronger. The last time after a heavy downpour was driving along the highway at a speed of 50 km / h, because. It was impossible to go faster, the track was all in a rut, and there was water on it. At the same time, all other cars calmly moved along the track at a speed of 90-110 km / h and did not experience any discomfort. Because of the wild aquaplaning, I can't give this tire a rating above three, it's only good on dry surfaces.

Pros
  • Strong sidewall, good handling on dry pavement
Cons
  • aquaplaning
